Embark on an exciting adventure with FREYR
We in FREYR feel that we are part of an adventure. Many of us chose FREYR because of that. We were attracted by it being a bold new initiative and an important part of the biggest drama humankind has ever faced: the battle against climate change.
We tell each other we need to Think Big. We have to do all the normal things companies do but take it to the next level. This may sound high-handed or big-headed, but the need to think big is very real. To make our contribution to reducing carbon emissions in time, we need to go significantly faster than usual.
This means we need people who are prepared to allow themselves to be tested, who are ready to jump into our adventure with both feet.
Knowing this, we have done some research into what actually motivates our potential new employees when making career choices. Given that you are reading this, you may well be in that group. This can be seen as research into you, and people like you.
Motivated by 3 things
We found that our potential candidates, who are technically educated early to mid-career people, are motivated by 3 things:

We were delighted by the results of the research as the motivators fit hand in glove with FREYR. We appeal very strongly to most people's idealism, roll up our sleeves to work hands-on, and are all engaged in an adventure!
Adventurers
We do not think that adventurers are necessarily dissatisfied in their current positions, but maybe they find everyday life a bit boring and are on the look out for something new?
Perhaps the adventurer's friends are starting to settle and put down roots ‘for good’, but she’s not quite ready yet. Perhaps she finds herself reminiscing back to times when she was more free and open to new experiences, say as an exchange student or backpacker.
Maybe she’s not in the market for a new job but finds herself sometimes spending time searching online for adventures in exotic destinations.
If she is to change jobs it must be for something that can clearly offer more. 'More' in FREYR is the adventure.
Adventurous families
We also wonder whether the adventurous family could be tempted to join FREYR. Such families need to be somewhere safe, with open spaces for the children and family to explore. There is an unusually wide scope for different kinds of adventure in Mo i Rana, the location of our existing plant and for the future Giga Arctic. It represents a truly unique combination of industry, providing the kind of work environment an adventurous and ambitious employee thrives in, and nature, with endless opportunities for outdoor activities of all sorts.
Such families could have been talking about moving to a different location for a while, perhaps where there is space and fewer people. Although they are triggered by the opportunity for an adventure, they need a guarantee that they will be well looked after, especially the children. This is certainly the case in FREYR.
