We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Electrical & Safety to help drive our new product development.

FREYR Battery is on a mission to decarbonize energy and transportation systems globally by producing the world’s most sustainable battery cells. Over 50% of all carbon mitigation is dependent on batteries. The industry is experiencing exponential growth.

FREYR is well set to succeed in this extremely exciting sector. We opened our first commercial-scale battery cell factory in Mo i Rana, Norway at the end of March. We will use this plant to prove both 24M’s semi-solid technology and our various products. This technology represents a breakthrough in the industry providing new Unique Selling Points, and much-reduced cost, CO2 footprint, capex, and factory size.

We will then build gigafactories based on 24M’s technology in Mo i Rana and in Georgia USA before expanding our technology base with other partners. We have concrete plans for building an enormous 200GWh capacity, which collectively can be expected to provide an annual turnover of more than $15 billion.

In the role of Senior Engineer – Electrical & Safety you will take responsibility for and work on the E/E Architecture, Components selection and Safety deployment during all steps of New Product Development Introduction.

The position reports to the Head of BMS & Systems Engineering and is based in Oslo, Norway.

Main tasks include

• Design of Battery Disconnect Unit
• Component Sizing and Selection
• Consulting mechanical design in HV safety aspects
• Design of wire harnesses/flexible printed circuits for sensing and actuation
• Ensure maximum performance in Collaboration with Mechanical & Electronics
• Develop Platform solutions for stationary, eMobility, and EV (Electric Vehicle) applications
• Investigate Market Developments for Performance Improvements or Cost Saving Measures

Qualifications – Required

• MSc in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience with relevant applications
• Mastering electrical circuit design
• Fluent in English, both written and oral

Qualifications - Advantageous

• Experience in requirement engineering and model-based system development
