FREYR Battery is on a mission to decarbonize energy and transportation systems globally by producing the world’s most sustainable battery cells. About 75% of all carbon mitigation is dependent on batteries. The industry is facing exponential growth.
We will soon be opening the doors to our Customer Qualification Plant, an industrial-scale lithium-ion battery cell factory based on 24M technology, in Norway. 24M technology represents a massive breakthrough in manufacturing technology producing batteries perfectly suited to the exploding stationary storage market.
We are moving fast to build 24M-based gigafactories in Norway and USA with an investment frame of about $2 billion each. We are also going to build gigafactories in Finland, though based on different technology better suited, at this stage, to the car battery market.
Our stated ambition at this point is to build 200 GWh of capacity, i.e. about 7 such gigafactories.
To ensure that FREYR becomes a world-leading battery producer we are now hiring a Process Technology Director to transfer knowledge and learnings from Giga Arctic to make the best decisions for Giga America.
The initial site is in Atlanta GA. You can live anywhere in the US and work remotely, traveling when needed.
Your main tasks will include ensuring the project team accurately implements the process basis of the design, building a strong team of forward-looking process technology engineers to support current and future LIB technology, and developing profitable products in partnership with sales and product development teams. In addition, you will be working closely with our technology provider 24M, to lead equipment and material performance testing.
We are looking for a person with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 10+ years of manufacturing operations.
You are a demonstrated Culture Leader when it comes to integrity, decision-making, economic thinking, and building 3rd party relationships.
As a person, you are ambitious and structured with a structured, organized approach and problem-solving abilities.
You take personal responsibility, have a commercial mindset, and thrive in a start-up environment.
