The first step towards achieving our goals is building battery cell factories in Mo i Rana. We will soon be opening the doors to our Customer Qualification Plant – Norway's first industrial-scale lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing facility. Here we will validate and improve technology, materials, and cell designs as we prepare for commercial production at our Gigafactories. FREYR intends to install 50 GWh of battery cell capacity by 2025, 100 GWh annual capacity by 2028, and 200 GWh of annual capacity by 2030.
We will build battery cell factories of increasing size in Mo I Rana and further globally as a significant contribution to the transition to a green economy. Without batteries, there can be no real change in the global energy system, the key to limiting global warming. These factories are a significant contribution to a more sustainable future.
We are looking for a highly qualified Project Control Engineer who is capable of working in a cross-functional team towards designing and industrializing the next generation of products in FREYR's product portfolio.
The Product Management group functions as the link between Technology Development and Sales departments. The creation of this link is the key to making our technology useful for the end-user.
In this role, you will gain a complete overview of the battery field and come to understand how our technology compares to others in the market and how it can be adapted to fit the needs of the market.
You will be expected to play a central part in supporting the project and programme management within the Product Management group – in particular in new product development and introduction projects. You will work closely with product development, project, and portfolio managers to ensure that the product portfolio of the Product Management group meets timing as well as cost and quality requirements.
The ideal candidates have an understanding of project governance, have experience with project management, and are interested in the ongoing battery industry revolution in Norway and globally.
Your main tasks will include:
Supporting projects according to Freyr’s own new product development and introduction process
Following up on the progress of the project deliverables from project team members
Assisting project team members and ensuring development process quality e.g., with templates, checklists and best practice for deliverables
Generating project progress charts and cost reports
Handling resource planning, milestone coordination and schedule tasks
Assisting in change management for the project
Organizing meetings, produce meeting minutes for regular meetings, and lead regular meetings in the absence of the project manager
We are looking for the following qualifications from our ideal candidate:
M.Sc. in industrial economics or technology management / MBA / Relevant technical master’s degree
Experience with project control or project management
Fluent in English, both written and oral
Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
Advanced user of Microsoft products like MS Teams and PowerPoint
The following qualifications are advantageous, but not a requirement:
Experience with working in cross-functional teams
Experience of working in an international company
Experience in establishing and working with quality systems for new product introduction
